7 months!!!

This morning, my stupid cat, Mija (meehaah), decided it would be sweet to watch over me. Problem- she was staring at me all wide eyed from 2 inches from my face!! When I opened my eyes and all I saw was her face I flipped. Tell me that's not creepy!! Sorry, it scared me.

How far along? 28 weeks. 7 months!! third trimester. We're in the home stretch!

How big is baby? The size of a small cabbage. At yesterdays sonogram, he weighed 2 lbs 11 oz. My little monkey :)

Development:
Your baby is almost 17 inches tall now (nearly as tall as he or she will be at birth), and close to three pounds (a weight that will likely more than double — and may even come close to tripling — by delivery time). His or her wrinkled skin is smoothing out as more fat is deposited under the skin surface. This fat, called white fat, is different from the earlier brown fat that your developing fetus accumulated. Brown fat is necessary for body temperature regulation while white fat (the fat you have, Mom) actually serves as an energy source.

Which explains why your energizer baby feels so…well…energized! Space in your baby's living quarters is now at a premium, so you'll be feeling jabs and pokes from elbows and knees mostly. But those kicks will be more vigorous than before (and also less erratic) because your baby is stronger and excitedly responding to all sorts of stimuli — movement, sounds, light, and that candy bar you ate half an hour ago.

Luckily, your baby doesn't have teeth yet that would need a brushing after that sugary treat, but it won't be long before you'll need to buy that first baby toothbrush! You'll recall that your baby's baby-teeth buds formed weeks ago, but now the buds for permanent teeth are forming in his or her gums as well.

How big is mama? Up 2lbs this week from last week. I think now is when I'll start the rapid growth phase. I say bring it! He's supposed to nearly triple from now until the end so it only makes sense that I gain now.

Sleep? Last night I was exhausted. Seriously tired. I hadn't recovered from the night before so I fell asleep pretty early for me. Like 10. Lol... I pushed to watch the new top chef and passed out.

Movement? So much. Thank God. The only thing that was comforting me was his kicks on the way to the ER. I'm glad he's so active. He reminds me he's doing ok in there. I was reading that at this stage, he is able to react more than just random spasims. If I eat sugar or if there's a bright light, or the heart monitor!!! He reacts to them. Lol the heart monitor is the funniest because you can actually hear him dash to the opposite corner of my tummy. As if to say "no! Not right now, I just want to be alone." :-)

Food? Cereal is my new bedtime snack, and I love it.

Milestones? A new month! I can now say "I'm 7 months pregnant" :) isn't it funny though that it's actually 10 months and not 9? There's 2 weeks freebies at the begining and the end so it's technically 10 months. Sounds like forever, right now it feels like nothing! I feel like this is seriously flying by. I think I'll miss being pregnant a little :) Santos here though, that will be amazing.

What I miss? Nothing.

Looking forward to next? This weekend we were supposed to have the 3d sonogram done but I'm going to wait to see how I feel. I'm still going to visit beck, I'm just going to rest at moms house. We plan to go through old photos and they'll drink wine and relax with me. Mom and dad have had a pretty tough time with my grandma and it seems like Friday night will be the grand finale showdown with her. She's going to a home. It's MUCH needed and i'm glad they'll be able to get some help with her. So yeah, this weekend will be nice to do nothing with them. They deserve a stress free afternoon.

And Sunday Gayle is bringing dinner to our house so gabe and his dad can celebrate fathers day together :-) even though I'm not really going to go anywhere but the bathroom, I'm excited to spend time with the whole familia both Saturday and Sunday. We have a good family, and I'm SO grateful for them.
