26 weeks!

How far along? 26 weeks - 6 1/2 months - a week from our 3rd trimester!

(i've been feeling pretty ugly lately so I put makeup on for this weeks photo shoot lol!)

How big is Santos? The length of a cucumber. When he lays horizontal, I can feel him at both sides of my tummy.

Development:
• Your baby boy's senses are becoming increasingly keen. The eyes are completely formed and he is aware of light and darkness. He will turn his head or close his eyes in response to bright light, and his eyes will move around in the sockets.

• Your baby boy has more defined sleep and wake cycles.

• Your baby boy's brain waves are similar to a newborn's.

• The survival rate for babies born at 26 weeks is about 80%; of surviving infants, the rate of serious medical complications is about 45%. Remember that survival and complications rates are highly dependent on the baby’s sex and race as well as the quality of the NICU.

• Do your insides feel like the ankle express? They might because your baby is doing a lot of moving around during this time, helping his limbs develop.

Size of mama? By the doctors scale this morning, I only gained 3 pounds since last month. I gained a pound since last week. I measure a full inch larger this week! I think it's really noticable!

Movement? This morning the doctor tried to get a listen to his heart. He wouldn't sit still. He kept moving around. She finally got to hear it long enough and it was nice and strong. He's been moving non stop since we got back from our visit with Ella. The video actually doesn't do it justice. Lol

Food? Nothing really strange this week. Although, I almost bought tomato juice at publix this morning. For the first time ever, it seemed appealing to me. I didn't want to waste money if I didn't like it though. So on the shelf it stayed.

Milestones? In our count down of days till we're due, we are in the double digits. Only 98 days left. Ahh!

Also, when we were up north, Jess was able to feel Santos kick. :-) she's the first! (other than gabe of course)

What's next? Wellllll today the doctor told me that I'm due for the second round of glucose testing. (routine) so I will schedule that soon. Not too bad -I drink something that tastes like flat orange soda, wait an hour, and they take my blood and that's it. No biggie.

Fun stuff coming up is that I'll be sending out the shower invites soon.

Yes, those are maternity pants. My belly is finally big enough that I can wear the ones Gayle bought me.

I've decided: aside from a little back pain, i feel great! I like being pregnant! :-)
